In 2024, Alameda County’s elected officials considered
strengthening local rent control ordinances, spurred by advocacy
from resident groups and activists.
After years of relative silence while neighboring jurisdictions
made a lot of noise and changes to their rent control ordinances,
elected officials in Alameda County are listening to advocacy
groups and are proposing local ordinance changes as a result.
Manufactured Housing Permit Requirements — Alterations or
Conversions
Information Bulletin (IB) 2024-04 (English / Spanish) supersedes
IB 2022-11 and clarifies the California Department of Housing and
Community Development’s (HCD) permitting and inspection authority
for the alteration or conversion of the following units in
California:
Civil Code Section 798.15 requires park management to provide
homeowners with a copy of a current Civil Code (Mobilehome
Residency Law) by February 1 of each year or provide written
notice to homeowners that there has been a substantial change to
the Mobilehome Residency Law (MRL).
Homeowners may request a copy of the Mobilehome Residency Law by
providing a written request to park management. Park management
then has 7 business days to provide the booklet to the resident.
Management must also provide the Rights and Responsibilities
notice by February 1 of each year.
Our presenters will discuss new laws impacting the mobilehome
industry, such as AB 2247, AB 2387, SB 1190, SB 1408, and many
more. Attendees will be able to ask questions toward the
end of the webinar.
