Peter Sortwell is the CEO of Arborwell, and has been involved in the commercial tree contracting business as a certified arborist for over 35 years. In 1986 Peter opened the first tree maintenance division for The Valley Crest Companies. During his 15 year career as Vice President of Valley Crest Tree Maintenance, Peter grew the company to 14 operating locations and 12 million dollars in revenue. In 2001 Peter started Arborwell, professional tree management.Arborwell has been listed as the top 100 fastest growing companies in the bay area by the San Francisco Business Times 7 years in a row and has been listed nationally 6 years in a row in the Inc. 5000. In 2007 Peter was named Entrepreneur of the Year by the East Bay Business times and in 2009 the SF Business Times awarded him The Most Admired CEO for a small business. Arborwell operates throughout California with locations in Hayward, Redwood City, Sacramento, San Diego, Orange County and San Jose. Peter is a member of The Alliance of CEO’s and a board member of The Tree Care Industry Association. Peter lives in San Mateo CA with his wife Anne and has two sons Alex and Tom who attend college at Ashland University of Ohio and The University of Alabama.
